Quilts for the Homeless

Our mission is to make warm wool blankets for the homeless people who sleep on the streets in the cold winter. We recycle old wool blankets, coats and other 100% wool clothing. We wash and dry them and cut them into suitable size pieces and sew them together to make a large warm patchwork quilt. Last winter we delivered 100 blankets to shelters in Sheboygan, Milwaukee and Madison.

Donations of wool and help is always needed. We also need small Gideon New Testaments, people to quilt and to rip material.
We work on this project every Monday at Zaida's Retreat Center in Cedar Grove, Wisconsin . If you are interested in joining us, we can sleep 12 people. Come for a retreat, fellowship and help with this mission project. Contact Zaida at 920-564-4141 or Salud at 414-305-8054,e-mail saludgr@wi.rr.com. We also sell pins, made from woolen scraps for $5.00.
